where is the love?

the view i see from beyond the car's window breaks my heart
for people are living in grief
and children are crying in pain
for once, smile was the hardest thing i could find
let alone laughter

in the mud, on the side of the roads, there's not where they belong.
i wonder when darkness fall and the sun hides from the sky.
how would they survive?

what would be in their mind at this very moment?
could they even think about what to eat tomorrow?
or should they worry about places to live?

bed from thin layer of paper
pillow from rock,
and food from trashes.

how would you expect this people to improve themselves,
when you know that to survive another day would be a blast for them
how do you expect them to stand up straight,
when you know that they could be cursing the day they were born,
wondering about their purpose in life.

i only know one thing for sure,
the one thing that they needed the most,
but i don't see how people are applying their theories.

i can't see how people are having compassion these days,
how they would care, and do something about it rather just talking, hoping people would think that they care, when they actually don't.

and the question comes from beneath the logical mind of me,
where is the love?

see you later

we come and go as we please,
asking if we're doomed.

infinite inquiries going through our minds,
challenging the insight kept in our heads.

inevitable actions that we won't complain,
but things that have broken our hearts.

tears that have fancied our face,
but hearts that are most wonderful.

time that won't go back,
but treasures that are kept memories.

there's no goodbye,
see you later,
even if we're not sure when, but we're certain that we will.

i'll miss you,
i already do :)

two

she's staring at the plain card, simple, but pretty nice.
it says : "thanks for being such a good friend, i can't imagine my life without you."
but they were just friends, nothing more.
she knows she was expecting more, she tried to show the way she feels about him for a long time.
but it seems that the way she's trying to treat him differently didn't make a significant change. they were too close to go further.
her phone in her hand was the reason why she went blank.
he's got someone special now, and she can't have him, no matter how bad she really wants to be by his side.
it's all too late now, telling how she feels about him would be useless either.
and even if she does, things will change, and she doesn't want any changes. it's better like this, but it was better when there were only the two of them.
she's gotta learn how to let go, how to smile and be happy, as long as he's happy.
no more tears, no more pain, life must go on.

the light

she was counting, "one, two, three." and when it's all packed up and put in the arranged order, she sighed and think.
she looked at those pile of money on her desk, a book opened showing her account balance, and a calculator she was holding.
will it be enough?
will it fulfill my needs, yet my desire?
it seems that she was really worried about her savings, but she has actually more than enough.
worried, showed from her face.
her every face line was tense, anxious about how she was gonna face tomorrow, let alone the day after tomorrow or so.
a reflection from the mirror was what shocked her.
the girl she's seeing from the mirror is truly not her, because she remembers, every time she passes down that mirror, a happy girl with big smile on her face is what she sees.
amused by her own reflection, she laughed, and she was enlightened.
why worry about tomorrow, when we haven't finished the day well?
why worry about something far away, when close ones are not accomplished?
i do have a lot of things to worry about, she thought.
but it's not gonna ruin my life, today

one line

she spread out her arms, imagining if she could fly.
and at the moment, enjoying the little time of freedom and happiness.

the breathe of the clean air
the sound of the little birds
the feel of the wind
and the warmth of the sun

where would the wind take her?
every moments that will surprise her.
how does she do it?how does she shine like the stars?
the light that sparkles from her face,
making a difference with the others.

one thing she knows for sure,
time's running out fast,
and she's competing with it.
to lose or to win is her decision.
to give up or not, to reach her final destination,
to finally have what she deserves,
and she's on the right track.
all she has to do is run,
run,
run,
faster,
and never stops,
until she steps on the finish line, and the sound of cheer surrounds her.
that is her life's purpose

family

i don't know how do you feel about your parents. but recently, i feel lucky about having my parents to be my parents.
i've been listening to my friends,
some of them couldn't have quality times with their parents, even if they want to.
some, just don't want to have quality times with them, because they think it sucks,
while some thinks their parents sucks.
my mom has always been the one to spoil me. my father was the strict one. and even though my family seems "fine" for other people whom are not involved in it. i don't think that my family was actually fine.
my sister and i were raised by our maids. my parents often go out until late, they don't even have time to put my sister and i in bed, let alone reading us bed time stories. we didn't really know what was going on, but back then, we were going through a lot of things. since my parents just moved from surabaya, it was a while until we finally settle in jakarta.
my mom then got a job, and she is very successful in her work. while my dad, gave his life fully to God, decided to stop working, and spent his time at home, reading books and gaining knowledge, i guess.
i used to think about my family as lame. i never like going out with them, i don't even bother trying to have quality times with them. i'd rather spend my time with my friends than to do anything with them. i wasn't even close to my sister. i don't know who her friends were, or even her favourite food or drink.
but then i changed my mindset, after one of my friends, whom i respect the most, told me that i should have quality times with them, i tried. and it wasn't actually hell.
my mom could be kind of fun sumtimes, even though she could be as boring as hell too.
my dad, even though he seems like he doesn't care (he really don't care actually, sumtimes) but he's really nice, and could be pretty caring at times.
my sister, she's like a friend to me. she could be fun, annoying and buggable :P
the point is, you may think about your family as boring, but it's because you never give them a chance to show how they could be your family, not just in words, but as a real family. you never gave them a chance for them to show how they love you, and how they are actually there, even though you never noticed.
that's what family actually means. they will always be there for you, unlike your friends, who could just possibly leave you when you're in trouble, well, not all friends like that, but there are only a few amount of friends who's got your back, so you're lucky to have them. but still, you have to know that you're luckier to have your family, needless to say about those who's unfortunate enough to live by their own, without their parents :)
mother's day coming up soon, maybe you could do something nice to your mom especially, do something worth remembering, as an appreciation, of their hardwork to raise you all this time :)
